In the 2025 version of Dark Nuns, the film takes place in a secluded, forgotten convent that has been shut off from the world for decades. The story centers around a group of young adults who, while researching for their college thesis on abandoned places, decide to visit the convent. Unbeknownst to them, the convent is the site of an unsolved mystery from the 1950s: a group of nuns who were believed to have gone mad after an unexplained event, leaving behind only cryptic writings and strange symbols.

As they explore the convent, strange occurrences begin happening. One of the group members starts having vivid dreams about the nuns and an ancient ritual. The spirits of the nuns begin haunting them, attempting to complete an unfinished ritual that could have dangerous consequences.

The protagonist, a young woman with a personal connection to the convent (her grandmother was once a nun there), must uncover the truth behind the haunting, including the dark history of the convent, the purpose of the ritual, and how to stop the spirits from unleashing their wrath.
